What Is Banana Powder Used For In Makeup

When yous utilise your foundation and concealer, you're never thinking, "I promise this won't final all solar day!"

The common denominator one needs in getting their liquid products to stay put throughout the day is a SETTING Pulverisation. And yeah, there are quite a few types, colors, and formulas of setting powders out at that place. But one of the most popular and talked about setting powders is the Banana POWDER.

I've got a new YouTube video explaining the what and why behind adding a assistant pulverisation to your makeup routine. Or y'all can go on scrolling to read about it instead.

Alright, let's answer the question, WHAT IS BANANA Powder?

And just a bit of history before we become into the what it is.  The start banana powder introduced to us was the Ben Nye Luxury Banana Pulverization that dates back to effectually the 1960's. Ben Nye was a famous Hollywood makeup creative person that worked from the thirty's to the 80's and created his own line of Ben Nye makeup. He worked on famous films such as Gone With The Wind, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes, and Found of the Apes to name a few.

Taking it from CameraReadyCosmetics site, information technology says this in a nutshell…

Banana Pulverization is a silky-fine, mattifying setting powder. With just a hint of yellow-ish color, y'all won't miss the white cast in your photos that often comes with other finishing powders. The versatile banana shade suits a range of skin tones as it softly and subtly color corrects surface redness and pink undertones, besides as neutralizes blue + purple under eye circles. You'll be hard-pressed to find a client these powders won't wait flawless on!

Although the Ben Nye pulverisation was the OG one, at that place take been plenty of brands that accept created knocked off their own version of the yellow tinted wonder powder.

Besides setting and prolonging your makeup, it helps to brighten the pare tone and brand sure you don't look ashy or washed out. Both biggies IMO!

In this video I showcased two banana powders, the original Ben Nye one and the Makeup Revolution, $8, which is the one I actually applied in the video. If you're curious, they are both super similar in feel, color, and texture.

Typically you see these setting powders in the loose pulverization form, which I personally adopt to apply when setting my concealer and foundation.  Pressed powders are typically used alone and in place of foundations.

HOW TO Use YOUR Assistant POWDER.

Can you tell how BRIGHT my under eyes are in this motion-picture show above??  Banana pulverization is piece of cake to use, and basically y'all apply it the way you practise regular setting pulverisation.

How I applied it in the video :

  • I use the pulverization AFTER I have practical my foundation and concealer (liquid products). This is the exact concealer I used.
  • Yous tin either pat it on with a small fluffy pulverisation castor OR yous can dip an egg sponge in the pulverization,
  • Tap whatever excess off (if your peel is very dry out/or mature similar mine – a little goes a long way), and then push the powder and roll it into the skin. Rolling motion helps set meliorate than a swiping motion in my opinion.

In the video, I explain how xanthous powders are smashing for medium, olive and darker skin tones. However, yellow shades cancel and right purples and blue under centre veins then if you're off-white, you can use it, but just might need to cut it with translucent pulverization to lighten the yellow even further.

AFTER I made this video, I constitute out that Makeup Revolution now offers a "banana light" shade. Which means I would non accept had to cutting my original banana powder with the RCMA translucent one similar I did in the video!!  Skillful to know.
